Considered one of the most important art spaces in Minas Gerais, the ICBEU
theater is known all over the country for the great box-office success it has attained
during its existence.
ICBEU's Theater -- which had been functioning as an
auditory since the opening of our own building, in 1969 -- was totally reformed in 1993.
The theater hold 245 seats in the orchestra (five reserved for handicapped) and 18
box-seats for special guests and authorities.
Great shows have been staged here and famous names
such as Rogério Cardoso, Carlos Nunes, Andréia Garavello, Manoelita Lustosa, Antônio
Mello, Cibele Ribas, Titane and the living legend of the American Folk Music, Peter
Seeger.
Currently, the use of the theater is partially
handed to a third party, which has made much more dynamic its interaction with the
audiences in Belo Horizonte.
This work has the cooperation of producers such as
Ílvio Amaral and Maurício Canguçu, who are responsible for the agenda from Thursday to
Sunday.
From Monday to Wednesday, the ICBEU Theater is
reserved for the students -- the exhibition of movies, presentations and rehearsals such
as those of the DRAMA CLUB, the TALENT SHOW and the Children and Adult CHOIRS.
The supervision of this space is handled by the
Communication and Cultural Activities Department.
The criteria for the selection of shows take into
consideration the quality, but also consider the objective of opening space for both
amateurs and national and international professionals.
Come and meet the ICBEU THEATER!
