The National Technological University NTU
pioneered many of the uses of broadcast distance education in the United States.
University On-Line
Inc. Based out of Ohio, they are on-line publishers which offer courses, on
a contract basis, to business and industry, and in conjunction with other
schools. Calvert School, for instance, uses them to offer home study courses.
They don't carry any accreditation themselves, but rely on the accreditation of
their participating institutions.
The University of
Phoenix is another well respected pioneer and innovator in on-line distance
learning courses. They also offer traditional courses at their campus locations,
as well as an MBA course on-line.
