THE FULBRIGHT COMMISSION

 

Scholarships for Brazilians

The Fulbright Commission administers several kinds of Master Degree programs for Brazilians in the United States. Most of those programs have the co-sponsorship of Brazilian Government Agencies such as CAPES, CNPq FIEMG/IEL, FAPESP, some private organizations such as the Fundação VITAE and the American Chamber of Commerce, in São Paulo.

The Screening Process 

The screening process for a Fulbright Commission scholarship begins approximately one year before the beginning of the studies in the USA. All the candidates are competitively assessed, regarding their qualifications, the study area, the work plan and the intended use of the knowledge they will acquire.

Check below the basic requirements, common to all the types of scholarships:

Basic requirements

  • Be a Brazilian citizenship;

  • Be residing in Brazil during the screening process;

  • Be proficient in the English language with a score of 80% in the MTELP test, which is applied in ICBEU on the first Thursday of every month;

  • Present a good project and the professional qualifications required for the development of the intended activities;

Possess needed personal qualifications that include adaptability, good health and power to represent Brazilian society and culture abroad.

         Environmental Education


Master in Studies about the United States

        Political science, Law, Economy, Education, History,
        North American Literature, International Relationship
        and Sociology.

"International Fellowship Program", in co-sponsorship with the American Chamber of Commerce, in São Paulo:

        Sub-areas of Applied Social Sciences and Engineering,
        determined every year.

 

Scholarships for Research, Improvement or Training 
 

Doctorate Research (Sandwich), in co-sponsorship with CAPES ou CNPq

        For all areas, with preference to human and social
        sciences.

Post-doctorate, in co-sponsorship with CAPES, CNPq or FAPEST

        For all the areas, with preference to human and social
        sciences.

Preservation and Popularization of Cultural Goods, in co-sponsorship with CAPES and VITAE

       Administration of state and Cultural Patrimony, archive,
       Legislation pertinent to the Historical-cultural Patrimony,
       Museums and Restoration.

Participative Citizenship, in co-sponsorship with CAPES

        Participative Citizenship  (Civil Rights and Obligations).

        The Role of the Media in the Brazilian Democracy.

Hubert H. Humphrey

Administration of Resources (human, natural and energy), Public Administration, Agriculture, Journalism, Economic Development, Finance, Politics and Administration of Technology, Regional and Urban Planning, Politics and Educational Planning, Politics and the Administration of Public Health and Drug Abuse (education, prevention and treatment).
