The "Educational Advising Office" is a
department of public interest at ICBEU-BH open to the community. It carries a collection
of catalogs and manuals, CD-ROMs, videos, books and brochures with information about
courses from high school to post-doctorate. We also have information about Student
Exchange Programs and English courses abroad. However, in accordance with our
not-for-profit policy, we only provide information -- we don't sell courses.
We offer 3 types of service:
1. The Thomas Jefferson Library has all the information mentioned above and the
libraries are prepared to help you do self-service research.
2. Those who want to have an
individual meeting with our Educational Advisor and representative of the Fullbright
Commission, please call the secretarys office and schedule an appointment and pay the R$ 20,00 fee. For those who cannot afford the
fee, there are public meetings. Call ICBEU's front desk for for information.
3. Additionally, once a month our Educational
Advisor, Judy Hardacre, give a free public talk on studies in the U.S. In order to
participate you must give your name and the aspect you are most interested to the
secretaries and become informed as to the date and time of the talk.
On the first
Thursday of every month, the office closes for consultations and applies a proficiency
test called "English language MTELP - Michigan Test of English Language
Proficiency".
The office also has the responsibility of divulging
and doing a first selection for the Fulbright's Commission scholarships. |
